What Should I Choose For My Dogs Food

Learning how to choose what is best for your dogs food can be somewhat challenging. The easiest thing to remember is that premium nutritious food has many pluses such as higher digestibility, consistent ingredients, you have no need for additional supplements, the dog can eat smaller portions, the food is more palatable, and your dog will have a lower stool volume.

Foods that are lower in basic nutrition have lower quality ingredients that make the food less digestible, they are not one hundred percent nutritionally complete, you need to feed your pet more because of the lack of nutrients, they have a lower quality fats and proteins, and they contain more sugars and artificial colors.

Every pet has different dietary needs, there is no food that is the perfect “diet” for everyone. More natural nutrition filled foods are always much better for your pets digestive system than commercial foods that are full of artificial colors and sugars.

Does Your Dog Bark?

Listening to a dog bark can become quite annoying at times. There are some considerations to think about when trying to curb this behavior.

The first is to never give a reward for barking. You need to teach your dog that barking is not an effective communication tool. If your pet keeps barking do not give him attention until he stops. This means that you do not talk to him, touch of, looking at him, or feed him.

Teach your dog the “enough” command. When your dog begins to bark, break his attention and say to him firmly “quiet”. The moment that he stops his barking, make a huge deal out of it and give him a treat.

Remember that barking is a natural behavior. It is unrealistic to think that your dog should never bark. You have to allow him to be able to vent. Let him get out a few barks, and then you can quiet him. A dog bark can be a positive thing as long as it is not excessive.
